Due to rising concerns about COVID-19, the Boys and Girls Club of Durham has made the decision to close our doors to the public beginning Friday, March 13th, 2020, at 6pm until the morning of Monday, April 6th, 2020. The health and safety of our members, staff and the community is our highest priority and we believe that this is the best course of action for our Club to help protect our community. We apologize for the inconvenience we know this causes for many who rely on our programs and space and we appreciate your understanding in this difficult time.
For more information about programs and services that are affected please read below:
March Break Camp
March Break Camp at all three locations (Bolton C Falby, Eastview and Northview) will be cancelled. All payments that have been made for this program will be credited to the RecDesk accounts of anyone registered for camp for use on future programs and services.
After-School Program
After-School Program at all 21 locations will be cancelled until April 6th, 2020. All participants who have paid for the After-School Program will receive a credit on their RecDesk account to be used on future programs and services.
Swimming Lessons and Aquatic Programs
All swimming lessons and aquatic programs between March 14th and April 5th will be cancelled. All participants affected will receive a credit on their RecDesk account.
Rentals
All rentals at our Eastview location are cancelled until April 6th,2020. All renters will receive a credit on their account.
Cowboy Chic
The Board of Directors will be meeting on Monday, March 16th, 2020 and will make a decision regarding Cowboy Chic. Information will be provided following that meeting.
We understand you may have questions going forward. You can direct all questions to trussell@bgcdurham.com. Due to the expected influx of emails we expect to receive in light of this announcement, we appreciate your patience while we try to gather all of the necessary information required to answer your questions.
We will be attending additional meetings with the Boys and Girls Club of Canada team, public health advisors and other professionals to help guide us in this process over the course of the next week and will post any additional updates on our social media pages and website as they become available.
